- נִיגְרָא, נִגְ׳m. (נְגַר) 1) gutter, dike. B. Mets. 107b ד׳ גרמידי דאַנִּ׳ לבני נ׳ Ar. (ed. ד׳ אמות … דבני אנ׳) four cubits on the shores of a dyke belong to the owners of the dyke. Pes.113a לא תשוור נ׳ leap not over a dyke (oth. opin., v. infra). B. Bath.12b תרתי אחד נ׳ two fields dependent on one dyke for irrigation; a. e.Pl. נִיגְרֵי, נִגְ׳. Ib.(V. also נִגְדָּא. 2) track, step. Pes. l. c. לא תשוור נ׳ do not leap in place of walking (v. supra).Pl. as ab. B. Kam.57a נקטי להו נ׳ ברייתא Rashi (ed. sing.) they adopted the habit of running out into the fields; ib. 118b אנקטה נ׳וכ׳ (not אנקטי) he taught her the way out of the fold; B.
